Sage Intacct supports both XML and REST APIs. REST APIs are the latest generation of Sage Intacct APIs, and Sage Expense Management has updated its integration to use this more modern and robust connection.
Upgrading this connection will ensure you can benefit from the latest features, improvements, and enhancements introduced by both Sage Intacct and the Sage Expense Management integration.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure:
You have admin access in Sage Intacct.
Note: No disruption will occur, and no data will change. This is strictly a back-end connection upgrade to keep your integration up to date and support future improvements.
Step 1: Authorize Web Services access
Log in to Sage Intacct.
Go to Company → Setup → Company.
Switch to the Security tab and click Edit.
Scroll to Authorised client applications and click Add.
Enter the following:
Client ID: 17a9a068f5a2daa9dd0d.app.sage.com
Add a Description
Enter the unique Web Services User ID you created
Note: The Web Services User ID is case-sensitive. Please enter this accurately. You may have an email with this included if you don't know it.
Set the Status to Active
Click Save.
These authorizations are required to ensure your Sage Intacct connection upgrade is completed successfully.
Once the steps have been completed, no further action is required.

How long does the migration take?
The migration may take a few hours to process fully. During this time, you can continue using Sage Expense Management & Sage Intacct as normal. No users will be disrupted, no data will be lost or changed, and your existing settings, including audit logs, will be preserved.
Why is this required?
This change is critical to improving Sage Expense Management at pace, including the introduction of newer functionality only available through the latest REST API Sage Intacct connection. Completing this upgrade ensures your Sage Expense Management integration remains current, supported, and ready for future improvements as we look to retire the XML API connection.
Does this upgrade cost extra?
There is no pricing increase to your plan due to this upgrade.
