What is Express ACH?
Express ACH is a new reimbursement model in Sage Expense Management that speeds up ACH payouts for most expense reports while improving security for higher-value reimbursements.
With Express ACH, expense reports are processed based on their reimbursement amount:
Expense reports up to $1,000
→ Processed via Next-Day ACH (typically 1-2 business days)Expense reports above $1,000
→ Processed via Standard ACH (typically 3-5 business days)
In many organizations, the majority of reimbursements fall below $1,000, allowing employees to receive funds faster and more consistently.
Why use Express ACH?
Faster payouts for most employees
A large portion of expense reports are processed in 1-2 business days.More predictable processing
Reimbursements follow a clear structure based on amount.Better security for high-value transactions
Larger reimbursements use Standard ACH, reducing the risk of payment failures or reversals. No configuration needed
Once enabled for your account, the model works automatically.
How it works
Once Express ACH is enabled for your account:
An employee submits an expense report.
The reimbursement amount in the expense report determines the ACH method:
≤ $1,000: Next-Day ACH
> $1,000: Standard ACH
Admins can track payouts as usual - no new steps or settings.
Your existing bank configuration remains unchanged.
