The Fyle Add-in for Outlook simplifies expense reporting by allowing you to create expenses directly from receipts within your Outlook inbox. This eliminates manual data entry and simplifies receipt attachment. This article explains how to install and use the Fyle Add-in for both the Outlook desktop and browser app.

Outlook Desktop App

Installation:

  1. Open the Add-ins Store: In the Outlook desktop app, click Store in the Home tab's ribbon.

  2. Search for Fyle: Search for "Fyle" in the Add-ins store.

  3. Add the Add-in: Select the Fyle Add-in and click Add.

Usage:

  1. Open the Email: Open the email containing the receipt.

  2. Open the Fyle Add-in: Click the Fyle icon in the email's ribbon. A sidebar will open.

  3. Log in (if needed): If you're not already logged in to Fyle, click Log In! and enter your Fyle credentials.

  4. Review and Edit: Fyle automatically extracts expense information from the receipt. Review and edit the details, filling in any mandatory fields.

  5. Fyle the Expense: Click Fyle IT! to save the expense to your Fyle account.

  6. View in App (Optional): Click View in App to open the expense in the Fyle web app.

Additional Actions:

  • Edit: Click the pencil icon to edit a Fyled expense.

  • Delete: Click the trash bin icon to delete a Fyled expense.


Outlook Browser App (Web Version)

Installation:

  1. Open the Add-ins Menu: In the Outlook browser app, open an email and click the three dots (...) in the top-right corner of the email.

  2. Get Add-ins: Select Get Add-ins.

  3. Search and Add: Search for "Fyle" and click Add.

Usage:

The usage of the Fyle Add-in in the Outlook browser app is identical to the desktop app (steps 1-6 above). The edit and delete actions are also the same.


Note:

The Fyle Add-in is currently only supported for Office 365 cloud accounts (not on-premise installations).
