What is Advanced Export Settings? How is it helpful?
If your organization uses some external accounting system (Such as Quickbooks Online or NetSuite), you would most likely be required to upload your data in a specific format specified by them.
Instead of exporting your data from Fyle and then formatting it to the required format, you can use the Advanced Export Settings to customize your data before exporting itself and thus save a lot of time and effort.
How to use it?
Let’s say you want to export the Expenses data from Fyle. You will go to the Company Expenses page, select the expenses, and click on Export.
Next, you select all the columns you wish to export. After selecting the columns, if you wish to customize your export data, click on Advanced Settings.
In the Advanced settings dialog, you can take the following actions:
Select File type
Choose the required export format for the data, whether Excel or CSV.Select Date format
Select the date format you prefer. This will be applied to all the date columns in the export data.
Decide whether or not to keep the column header in the export file
If selected, the first row in the export data will be the column names.
Enable or Disable double row entry
If enabled, you can dedicate two rows for each export item such that certain columns are filled only for a particular row (or both). This is mainly used when you want a separate credit row and a debit row for each transaction.
Customise columns
You can customize the export columns and apply transformations to them as per your needs. Refer to this article to know more, you’ll be surprised how powerful this feature is.
Saving Advanced Settings
All the preferences and customisations you choose in the Advanced Settings during export are automatically saved on Fyle. Once you make an export, the next time you log in to your account and initiate an export, your previous settings will automatically be selected.
However, this functionality is currently limited to the same browser. Your settings will be saved only as long as you log in again from the same browser and do not clear your local storage.
