If you think an expense report is not fit for approval and needs some changes to be made, you can reject the report and send it back to the employee for revision. Once they have made the required changes to the report, they will have to re-submit the report for approval to you.
To send back an expense report, you can follow the steps mentioned below:
Under Teams, select Reports.
All the reports that are submitted to you for approval will be visible under the My Queue tab. Select the required report.
On the top right corner, beside Approve, click on the three-dots button. Select Send Back.
In the form that opens up, type in the reason why this report is being sent back to the employee. This will help them to understand what changes need to be made.
Once filled in, click on Send Back.
NOTE: This is a mandatory step.
The report will be sent back to the employee. They can make the requested changes and submit the report for approval.
