Entity-Related Sage Intacct Errors

Error: There is no inter-entity relationship defined between {entity_1} and {entity_2}

What does the error mean?

This error occurs when a charge card transaction spans two entities — for example, the card belongs to one entity but a line item is coded to another. Sage Intacct needs to balance the books across both entities by creating "due-to/due-from" journal entries to track the intercompany debt. If there's no mapping that tells Sage Intacct how the two entities cross-charge each other, it blocks the transaction.

How to solve the error?

Map the due-to and due-from GL accounts between the two entities at the Top Level in Sage Intacct. To do this:

  1. Go to Company > Setup > Configuration > Inter-entity account mapping.

  2. Follow the steps in this Sage Intacct article to configure the mapping. For help setting it up, contact Sage Intacct support.

  3. Once set up, go to Sage Expense Management and re-sync the failing expenses.

Error: Your configuration limits credits to the entity owners. You cannot apply negative line items in transactions with line items for multiple entities.

What does the error mean?

If your multi-entity configuration is set up to limit AP credits to the entity owners, you can only add negative inline credits when each line is for the same entity. If a bill has line items for different entities, negative inline credits are not supported.

How to solve the error?

If you want to allow negative inline credits in this situation, you can remove the restriction to limit AP credits to the entity owners. This option can be changed as long as there are no bills pending in the Outbox.

a. Go to Company > Admin > Subscriptions

b. Click Configure under Multi-Entity Management, and deselectLimit AP credits to the entity owners”.
