The Fyle app for Slack integrates expense management directly into your Slack workspace. This allows you to create, submit, and manage expenses without ever leaving Slack, streamlining your workflow and saving you valuable time. This article explains how to connect Fyle to Slack and utilize its features.
Connecting Fyle to Slack
Access Integrations: In the Fyle web app, go to your Profile settings and navigate to the Integrations tab.
Connect Slack: Locate the Slack integration and click Connect.
Authorize Fyle: You'll be redirected to Slack to authorize the Fyle app. Click Allow to grant Fyle access to your workspace.
Using the Fyle App on Slack
Once connected, you can use the following features:
Create Expenses: Use the /expense-form command in any Slack channel or direct message to open an expense form. Fill in the details and click Add Expense.
Attach Receipts: After creating an expense, attach receipts by uploading them directly to the thread or by replying with the image. If your organization uses Visa Real-Time Feed, you'll receive Slack notifications for new transactions. Click Attach Receipt in the notification or reply with the receipt image.
List Expenses: Use the /fyle-list-expenses command to view your recent expenses.
Edit Expenses: If an expense was originally created in Slack, you can edit it directly within Slack. Click the Edit button next to the expense in the list. Note: Expenses created outside of Slack cannot be edited within Slack.
Delete Expenses: If an expense was originally created in Slack, you can delete it directly within Slack. Click the Delete button next to the expense in the list and confirm the deletion. Note: Expenses created outside of Slack cannot be deleted within Slack.
Submit Expense Reports: Use the /fyle-report command to select expenses and add them to a new or existing report. You can then submit the report directly from Slack.
Receive Notifications: Get notified in Slack about expense report approvals, comments, and other updates.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with the Slack integration:
Check Connection: Ensure that Fyle is properly connected to your Slack workspace in your Fyle Profile settings.
Authorize App: If prompted, re-authorize the Fyle app in Slack.
Contact Support: If the issue persists, contact Fyle support for assistance.
